BODY TALK

LET'S TALK ABOUT US.

Sex education teaches

you the skills you need

to protect yourself.

Learning about yourself and how things work within our world has been a life long journey. In school, you are taught things that help you get through life. They teach you how to read, write, speak, tell things apart and yet, when it comes to the biggest topic that you need to know about yourself; They tend to rush over the important parts because they think at your age girls are too young to learn about you, your body and your own reproductive system.

Being taught about sexual health, the reproductive system, and other areas of your body helps make it easier for you to understand what is going on, if it’s something to worry about and the consequences if you don’t do anything about it. Being able to know about these risks helps you make the choice in taking control over your own health care with or without your parents permission. Know that as a minor, under the law you can get help with birth control, prenatal care, drug use/abuse and testing/treatment with std’s/sti’s.

Knowing what is going to come or what could come, helps you be prepared and not freak out when something happens. Most girls when growing up are super embarassed when asking or talking about their bodies. Most of the time the reason you are embarassed or scared to talk about it, is because you will be judged or be made fun of but at Body Talk that is not the case.

Body Talk wants to help you better understand what is going on and why because without that knowledge a lot of girls begin to think many outrageous things are happening to them and it’s simply something that is normal or not a big deal. In the odd chance that it is something that is a big deal they will then know what to do, where to go for care, and your rights to health care when you need to make the choice in getting help.
